Will Termite Treatment Kill Other Bugs?

Some termite treatments can kill other pests or bugs that are in your home. Termite fumigation, in particular, is known to effectively kill off other insects.
Due to the nature of termite treatments, they may kill off other bugs in the home. Because so many invasive pests can be controlled with fumigation methods, many homeowners will be happy to know that any pest in the home will be eliminated through this technique. It’s important to note that certain termite treatments target just termites.

What Pests Are Killed by Termite Fumigation?

Although the fumigation technique is most often used for termites, it can effectively kill many other pests present in the home or above the ground. While different dosages of fumigates are required for different pests, the termite fumigation process is known to kill some of these other bugs:

Do Termidor and Sentricon Termite Treatments Kill Other Pests?

Termidor can kill a number of other insects, including beetles, boxelder bugs, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, flies, silverfish, spiders, ticks, and wasps. It also works to provide control for acrobat ants, carpenter ants, odorous house ants, and others. Sentricon is able to kill carpenter ants. However, it is formulated specifically for termites and thus unlikely to work against other bugs.

Will Termite Treatments Harm My Pets?

As long as your termite exterminator has properly installed or applied termite treatment, your pets should be safe. Always take your pets with you if you need to vacate your home for treatment, and make sure to keep them away from treated areas well after the treatment is complete.
