Yes! Bed bugs are most infamous for their bites. Bed bugs feed at night when their victim is at rest. Although you usually won’t feel their bites, symptoms from them can begin to show up in just a day or two.
Here’s what to know about bed bug bites:
Bed bugs are typically active overnight but can come out anytime their potential victim is at rest. The bites from bed bugs are typically painless and won’t wake you up. The bed bug will usually feed for anywhere up to 10 minutes. Once they become engorged, they will crawl away.
Bed bugs are indeed nocturnal and peak in activity between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. However, they can adjust their schedule and will emerge to feed whenever you are at rest.

Bed bugs will bite any part of the body where skin is exposed overnight. This includes your arms, legs, hands, feet, and even your neck. Their bites occur in lines or zigzag patterns. While rare, there’s even a chance bed bugs can feed on your face.
While bites on the face may occur, you don’t need to worry about bed bugs crawling in your nose, mouth, or ears, which is a common (and understandable) concern. These bugs feed on the surface of your body and prefer to retreat after their meals.
Some people that are bitten by bed bugs will not get any symptoms. For the most part, their bites can be itchy and red. In serious cases, rashes or welts can form. Although the bite of a bed bug won’t transmit any diseases, it’s still crucial to do everything you can to help your bite marks heal properly to avoid secondary skin infections.
