Can Bed Bugs Fly or Jump?
Bed bugs do not have wings, so they cannot fly. In addition, they cannot jump long distances, unlike some bugs their size (like fleas). So how do bed bugs move? Through crawling! Bed bugs actually crawl quite slowly. Due to their tendency to hide near where they feed, they don’t have to move quickly. Once they’ve fed, they’ll crawl back into hiding until they emerge again. Occasionally, you can see the bugs crawling on walls.

Although bed bugs commonly spread from latching onto suitcases or purses, they are not contagious in the sense that they pass from person to person. Bed bugs do not like heat, and thus do not live on humans and transmit to other people that way.
